Biography

Khosrow I Anushirvan is considered the greatest and most celebrated of the Sasanian monarchs. He implemented sweeping administrative, military, and tax reforms that strengthened the empire. Known as "The Just" in Persian tradition, he established a reputation for wisdom and fairness that survived into Islamic times. He gave refuge to Greek philosophers when Justinian closed the Academy of Athens.
