Biography
Yazdegerd III was the last Sasanian king of kings. He came to the throne as a child during a period of civil war and faced the Arab Muslim conquests. Despite attempts to rally resistance, the empire fell piece by piece. He spent his final years fleeing eastward, and was killed near Merv in 651 CE, ending over four centuries of Sasanian rule.
