Biography
Khosrow II Parviz brought the Sasanian Empire to its greatest territorial extent, conquering Syria, Palestine, and Egypt from Byzantium. However, his successes were reversed by Emperor Heraclius, and his disastrous final years led to his overthrow and murder. His reign marks both the apex and the beginning of the end of Sasanian power.
